Twitter has put together an infographic analyzing the tweets from last night’s State of the Union debate. It counted 766,681 tweets that referenced the State of the Union or one of its hashtags, as well as 548 tweets from members of Congress.
The top moment was President Obama’s joke, “I guess it was worth crying over spilled milk,” which generated 14,131 tweets-per-minute. And as you might imagine, the State of the Union was the most social show on TV last night.
This is the first time we’ve seen Twitter release an infographic so quickly after a major event, and it looks like this trend will continue, at least with the election. “Twitter is the real-time index to the election,” explains an email from Twitter. “Stay tuned for more insights and analysis around key moments throughout the election year from Twitter.” Here’s the infographic…
