CBS cranks up social media for November sweeps

After two “Tweet Weeks” this year, CBS is rolling out “Social Sweep Week” to kick off the November book. CBS talent will take over the network’s various Facebook and Twitter accounts at points throughout the week, beginning with tomorrow’s big LSU-Alabama football game. Every morning, CBS will reveal who’s updating the accounts for the day on @CBS, the CBS Facebook account and here on CBS.com:

The Social Sweep Week section of the site shows the schedule of social events with nifty “like” and follow buttons built in. Once the CBS talent take over, “fans will be able to view pictures, videos, exclusive show content and status updates posted by the talent, and will also be able to interact by asking questions and commenting on postings,” explains the release.

We talked to Chris Ender, SVP Communications for CBS Television back in September about the network’s second tweet week, and we asked how difficult it was to get talent involved. “It wasn?t a hard sell. They enjoy connecting with their audience,” he said. “(Survivor’s) Jeff Probst enjoyed the live tweeting so much last season he started doing it for both the East Coast and West Coast feed.”

Here’s the full list of CBS social media events for the week:

Saturday, Nov. 5

Sunday, Nov. 6

Monday, Nov. 7

Tuesday, Nov. 8

Wednesday, Nov. 9

Thursday, Nov. 10

Friday, Nov. 11
