POP: A Strategy to Address National Decline in Employer Sponsored Health Care

The turning of the millennia in many ways marked the beginning of some of our more daunting obstacles. Since January 1, 2000, the percentage of individuals covered by employer sponsored healthcare steadily declined every year until 2009 (the date of publication, the economic trend has continued to the present). The numeric result? 45.7 million individuals no longer covered by health insurance and a dramatic increase to the cost of premiums nationwide. Premium only plans, a cost saving strategy, dramatically increase the accessibility and affordability of sponsored healthcare as a result of the tax-free dollars they allow employees to use when contributing to their group insurance premiums.
